Young Turks Has First Private Screening

A film by Stephen Seemayer and Pamela Wilson

Each guest at the private screening received a copy of this 11″ x 17″ poster.

A slice of downtown life circa 1980 was resurrected Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, when theĀ first of two private screenings of “Young Turks” took place at the Downtown Independent Theatre on Main Street. Many of those involved in the making of the 95-minute documentary were in attendance, including Jon Peterson, Woods Davy, Marc Kreisel, Coleen Sterritt, Richard Newton and Linda Frye Burnham, artists who 30 years ago were captured on Super 8mm film by their friend and fellow artist Stephen Seemayer.

A second private screening will be held Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. (Doors open at 5 p.m.) The Downtown Independent is located at 251 S. Main St., between 2nd and 3rd streets. Seating is limited and by invitation only. For information, email youngturksthemovie@yahoo.com.
